Gauge of Language


    Language is a necessary thing for communication. Without it we couldn’t imagine anything in real world. Communication is important in any field.
Suddenly by reading these lines this question may pop into our minds : “Which language?”

        Finding answer to this question, many problems have started. Considering all countries, each country has its own language. More than that we can say that they have one common language. If this is the case then no need to worry, because difference in opinion of language doesn’t occur.

    But for country like India, they speak different language depending on the region they are living in. India has many provinces/states. Each state has its own language. We also see many clashes due to language. If this is the case, then ‘unity in diversity’ concept is already ruined.
     Let us go back some decades ago, when British had their total influence on India. I like to quote “Even after British left us, English didn’t leave”. British planted a seed called English in Indian minds which is a boon and also curse at the same time.
   
    Yesterday I was travelling in train from my native place; I met a typical Indian family having around 6 members. As usual that family were packed with parents, grandparents, beautiful daughter and a younger brother for her. They were basically from chikmagaluru. Elders and that girl interacted very well. But after some time, mother of that cute little boy started blaming her son for his English. She was like “All his classmates are speaking English quite well. But he is not. He can’t even be a topper. If this continues he will suffer a lot and he will not have bright future. Etc!!”.

   I was fed up by hearing those blaming from her. Because when we went to school no one forced us or pressurized us to speak in English. We learnt by ourselves. I was feeling bad for him. I couldn’t further resist her blaming, so I said her “English is not necessary at that level, he will learn by his own during the course of time. Let him have his freedom to explore how good he is.”
Later that girl also agreed to my point.


    This is not just the case of that boy. So many parents think in that manner. Until those parents mindset changes, we can’t do anything. So I think before educating children, it is necessary to educate their parents about these things.
Learn with interest & passion and not with pressure.

        ಗಾವೋ ವಿಶ್ವಸ್ಯ ಮಾತರಃ ಎಂದರೆ ಈ ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ಗೋವು ತಾಯಿ ಇದ್ದಂತೆ. ಸರಳ, ಮೂಕ ಮತ್ತು ಉಪಯುಕ್ತ ವಾದ ಜೀವಿ. ನಾವು ಎಷ್ಟು ಪ್ರೀತಿ ತೋರಿಸ್ತಿವೋ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೀರಿದ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ನಮಗೆ  ಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದರ ಹಾಲು ಎಷ್ಟು ಪ್ರಯೋಜನಕಾರಿ ಎಂದರೆ ಅದಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನಮ್ಮ ದಿನನಿತ್ಯ ಆಹಾರ ಪದ್ಧತಿ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.   ನಾವು ತಿನ್ನುವ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಸಿಹಿ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳು ಹಾಲಿಲ್ಲದೆ ತಯಾರಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಹಾಲನ್ನು ಉತ್ಪಾದನೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಡೈರಿ ಫಾರ್ಮ ಗಳ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿದಿಲ್ಲ . ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆಗುವ ನಷ್ಟ ಅಷ್ಟಿಷ್ಟಲ್ಲ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಬರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡದೆ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಅವರಿಗೂ ಉಳಿಗಾಲವಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಂತಹ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗಿದೆ.       ಮೊನ್ನೆ ತಾನೆ ಸಾಗರದ ಸಮೀಪದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಒಂದು ಡೈರಿ ಫಾರ್ಮ್ ಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಎದುರಿಸುವ ಸವಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದಾಜು 300 ದನಗಳು ಇದ್ದವು. ಸುಮಾರಷ್ಟು ಹೈಬ್ರಿಡ್ ತಳಿಗಳು. ಉಳಿದವು ಮಲ್ನಾಡ್ ಗಿಡ್ಡ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಂದಾಜು 600 ಲೀಟರ್ ಹಾಲು ಉತ್ಪಾದನೆ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ. ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ದನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ 200 ರೂಪಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ವ್ಯಯಿಸಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. 300 ದನಕ್ಕೆ  ಅಂದಾಜು 60,000 ರೂಪಾಯಿಗಳು. ಪ್ರತಿ ಲೀಟರ್ ಗು ಅಬ್ಬಬ್ಬಾ ಅಂದರೆ 40 ರೂಪಾಯಿಗಳು ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸೋಣ. ಹಂಗಾದ್ರೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬರೋದು  24000 ರ...

Feel and understand

"To understand something first we need to feel"        Actually it is a simple line with in-depth meaning. Many consequences have occurred in everyone's life. We usually judge things from 1 point of view or in other words, our point of view.       I'll give you an example. Consider a situation that you are walking in a road, with a bun in your hand. Some random small child rushes towards you and steal your bun. How will you react ?       First thing you may do is to catch that child, and teach him/her some good manners. or gathering public and bashing that child. or cursing that child and letting go off the situation. A Day 8 times in 4 years

             A new morning waiting for us. Hoping for a better day than previous one. The fun, enjoyment and jolly days of vacation ends. We started to miss homemade sweets and other dishes. We had to eat the hostel food again with a small face.        We see everyone rushing with a notebook in hand, some in groups and rest alone. Some with fascinating face and some with sadness at peak. Some with sleepy faces and some with happy faces. Juniors getting ragged & introduced to seniors.     There will be introduction classes of some lecturers & yuck, some of them also starts the syllabus on the first day.    This is nothing but the first day of every engineering student & this day comes only 8 times in 4 year!!
