I remember when these UPI transaction was not in the picture, we used to visit nearest ATM to withdraw cash and then rush into some general stores to get change. It was very difficult to get smaller denominations for shopkeepers, when some one gave ₹500 for small tea. Especially, shopkeepers used to give chocolates for the remaining smaller amount of money.
If ATM runs out of money, then we are doomed. Oh Gosh! Now we can't even think life without UPI transaction. Somehow we can say that these kind of small problems has been solved using UPI transaction or digital transaction. I totally agree with this and was thinking in the same way.
Ah! This is our mindset. To be honest, I only realized when I started spending my salary. This UPI transaction can be double edged sword.
Think of a situation where you have some amount of money in bank, but you withdraw only 100 bucks. So you have only 100 bucks in your wallet and where ever you go, first thing that will strike your mind is you just have 100 bucks. You can only spend up to ₹100 . To be honest, this situation saves your money. If you want to spend more, definitely you will withdraw more, but that's different situation. The key thing is that you will only withdraw the required money.
Consider you have the privilege of UPI transaction, then your bank balance is your limit. This tends you to spend more without any brakes to your mind. This situation can only be avoided, if you have self control.
Actually so called 'Cashless transaction' has made cash less in our bank account. Even if you argue that you won't spend more, just think about the previous situation again.
Cashless transaction has brought ease in spending money rather than what can be saved in "only CASH mode". Even I'm in confusion, whether we should call this cashless transaction since somewhere it is igniting us to spend more.
So have self control and spend your hard earned money wisely!
