Many acts are implemented by government to develop government schools and provide education to all the students of this country. Large amount of funds are being released by government for its maintenance. Still we see the same school building which was 15 or 20 years ago. Some of them are in worst condition. Parents now a days send their children to private school which provides excellent facilities at higher price. The one who can't afford those price sends their children to government school, not all but most of them. In spite of having huge funds, government schools never develop. It may sound harsh but that's reality.
Well you may have watched "Sar.Hi.Pra.Shaale kasargod" and felt proud of government Kannada medium schools. But in my guess that lasted for few minutes. But if the quality would have increased a little bit, the situation would have been different. Readers, In U.S people prefer their children to send to government schools rather than private. The one who have settled their would have got answer. They provide quality with all sufficient infrastructure. I don't deny the fact that there are other private institutes in U.S which provides better facilities. Some times I feel if education minister with minimum qualification was chosen, this disaster wouldn't have happened. The main source of funds getting leaked is by other superior officers above these schools. Let us keep politics apart.
Some incidents which happened today provoked me to write this blog. Well I'll explain that later. Every government sector works in worst way and that's why people find difficulty in approaching government office. For everything the money matters. Its just like what I said in some previous blog "We are puppets under the politicians who are ruling our country".
Let me come to the incident part. Today a teacher was appointed as judge for some competition at Block level Pratibha Karanji. This story was from her perspective. The hierarchy of this competition are cluster, block, district and state level. To be a part of block level competition they must have won the cluster level. This is mainly organised by government to encourage talented students. She was judge in one of the competition. At beginning, the rules & regulations were informed to all judges who were present. But during those talk, all the teachers were busy in their own problems and were talking unnecessary things. Some of the so called respected teachers were shouting from behind. This is our government school teachers. I'm not portraying them badly, private school teachers were also involved in these activities but not as them. They were discussing stuffs such as "ಈ ಸಲನಾದ್ರೂ judgement ಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆ ದುಡ್ಡು ಕೊಡಬೋದು ಕಣ್ರೀ ".
The most of the cluster level winners were government school students. This teacher was from private school. She thought the competition would be tough. But in reality it was pathetic. Only few did well. Among them in spite of being best, a boy lost the competition. When this teacher asked other judges regarding the judgment, they replied that others were pretty good. But reality was they were far from winning. Well we get to know what kind of teacher fails in recognizing one's talent.
Every thing is commercialized in this world. Do you think, the one who think about money in such mere competition will utilize all the money provided by Govt. in developing the school?? Hah, if yes most of the readers would have attended government schools.
My points for improving education is very clear.
"Every one should pass - scheme should be withheld" [ This increases the quality ]
"Every one should pass - scheme should be withheld" [ This increases the quality ]
"Educational minister should have minimum qualification"
"School teachers shouldn't be appointed based on competitive exams" [ Since it doesn't show their teaching skills ]
"Some schemes must be created so that funds are utilized in proper way".
If this happens, at least this generation people may think about sending their children to government school in future.
